Nasty Trashies will be my theme song for the rest of this week :-)
Posted by: Bazooka Joe at February 25, 2006 01:40 PMThe next time you have them on, make them come as one of the characters of their side projects, like Chopper Dave. Make it a condition that they remain in persona the entire show and highlight that particular side project. I think it would be fun.
Otherwise, I love their music. Great Show!
Posted by: Byshyp at February 28, 2006 11:13 AMdragon city seem like a whacky bunch of guys. somehow i just can't help but wonder how it'll be like if they get drunk. hmm... hahaha but anyway cool stuff!
Posted by: Vanessa at March 1, 2006 10:19 AMI was listening to this show again, and it reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend, who was at one time a paid musician for the early day miners, now studying law, in particular copy right law.
We were discussing a muscians right to make a good living off their art and how mp3s and what not where hurting indie rockers the most. In the end, I asked him where most bands made their money. He said on tour. I said I was more likely to go see a band if I was exposed to their music through a podcast and/or got a lot of their songs in mp3 format off a website. I mean, you just can't manufacture the experience of seeing a song perforned like the last one in this show live. It's something I'd be willing to pay good money to see.
So here's the rub. I live in Indiana, and getting out to Philly for a weekend show is just a little impractical. Of all the shows I'd love to see this year, I want to experience a Dragon City, Diagram, Relay show, so, if you guys ever make it as far west as Cincy or even Louisville, please drop me an email, and I'll drop a bunch a greenbacks at your merchandise table.
I think Dragon City has a great perspective on what they do. It obviously produces quality, along with a lot of extraneous asides. Actually, I take that back, I think the Chopper Dave probably does contribute greatly to Dragon City along with the ghost thing.
